Membership Renewal for 2010
It is the time of year when I need to write to invite you to renew your membership for the coming year.

The Directors have recommended a £5 increase across the board. This was discussed at some length at the October Management meeting and following a majority vote the increase was agreed.

The new rates for 2010 are shown below:-

Combined Social and Bowling Member £ 115.00  [£ 125.00 if paid after 31/01/10]

    Social Member  £  50.00  [£ 60.00 if paid after 31/01/10]

Club membership has increased during the year and we want this trend to continue.
It represents great value for money – would any of your friends be interested in joining CBBC? If so, please speak with me or take a membership application form from the folder on the Mens bowling notice board.

As you will be aware, CBBC is a ‘self-help’ club and depends upon the goodwill and time of our members in order to function effectively. On behalf of the Directors and Management Committee, I would like to thank everyone for their contributions in the current year and ask for your continued support in the year ahead. There are many opportunities to help – for example serving behind the bar, removing the empties for recycling, being on a committee, removing grass cuttings, maintaining the flower beds and tubs, organising social events, preparing meals and more! Colin Tagg would be delighted to hear from you if you would consider joining the bar rota … typically one evening every 4 to 5 weeks … prior experience is not required!

The club keeps a list of ‘emergency contacts’ by the First Aid box (located in the main changing room behind the door) in the event that there is an incident whilst you are at the club. Please check the list when you are next at the Club, and let me know if any contact details need to be changed.

An increasing number of you will have received this communication by email. This is a speedier and cheaper way of communicating with members, and one that we would like to utilise further in the future, so please complete the details on your renewal form if you have an email address.

I would also like to draw your attention to the Club’s AGM on Friday 5th February 2010 at 7.30pm. This is a meeting for all club members; it is your opportunity to hear what is happening at the Club. You can also ask questions, stand for and elect committee members for 2010, and generally show your support for the Club.

Finally, although the latest date to renew your membership is 31st January, it would be appreciated if you would return your form and fee to me before the deadline – by mid January would be helpful. Please note that anyone who has not renewed by 31/01/2010 will be considered to have resigned, although membership may be reinstated, subject to Management Committee approval and payment of an additional £10 fee.

And Finally, Finally !!  Don’t forget to support the Friday evening social events throughout the winter and I wish you an enjoyable year as a member of Carshalton Beeches Bowling Club.

Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year
